There is also an abundance of nature to be explored. Come prepared with walking shoes for the wonderful bushwalks as you discover undisturbed wildlife and foliage. For the adventure seekers amongst us, aim big and head for the lighthouse - the furthest point from the resort at 15.4km return and a challenging walk, it's not for the faint hearted.

Wherever you're headed, there's lookout points enroute as well the historical shearing shed and heretige listed homestead to explore. The animal life is prolific on the island with brush tailed possums, blue-tongue lizards, goannas and a huge variety of birdlife with white-breasted sea eagles, brahminy kites, ospreys, beach curlews, honeyeaters, rainbow bee-eaters, pheasants, kookaburras and rainbow lorikeets just to name a few. Alternatively simply relax sipping cocktails overlooking the tranquil waters of the Great Barrier Reef.
